Set Up:
Four players are set up inside of the small grid. As Player 1 dribbles, the other three players in the grid make checking runs away from him. When Player 1 makes eye contact with another player, (Player 2 in the diagram), he checks back to the ball in order to receive a pass. Play continues in this fashion, with three players making checking runs away from the dribbler before coming back to the ball to receive a pass.
Coaching Points:
1. Make runs away from the ball in order to create space for you to work back into.
2. Communicate by making eye contact, but don’t telegraph the play.
3. Get wide and out of the defender’s field of vision before checking back to the ball.
Progressions:
1. Add one more group to the field.
