Set Up:
12-16 players are set up on a split field, with players starting from the midfield line. During the drill, the goalkeeper starts each sequence with a pass to the attacker releasing from the cone at midfield (Player 1 in the diagram). From there, the ball is played back and thru for a finish on goal. The shooter goes off and play reverses direction, starting with an outlet pass from the goalkeeper to Player 1. Play continues in this pattern with a new attacker coming onto the field to start each sequence.
Coaching Points:
1. Player 3 has to wait for the play to develop between Players 1 and 2 before running.
2. Player 3 should settle the ball as early as possible, and then look for the goalkeeper.
3. Make a positive first touch towards the goal when finishing from a wide position.
Progressions:
1. Player 1 can turn and shoot on goal.
