Set Up:
There are six players set up in the attacking third, starting at the cones. Along with the goalkeeper, the players move the ball around the back third.
First ball: Player 1 passes to the GK, the GK opens up and plays to Player 2. Player 2 holds that ball while the GK plays the second ball.
Second ball: Player 3 passes to the GK, the GK opens up and plays to Player 1. While the second ball is moving, Player 2 passes out to Player D, Player D plays it back to the GK, who plays it out to Player 2 for the re-start.
The goalkeepers switch out after five turns, and the starting positions switch over to the other side of the field after ten minutes.
Coaching Points:
1. With his first touch, the Goalkeeper should open up and look to the opposite side.
2. The goalkeeper should be up on his toes and ready to run with his first touch.
3. Long passes should be driven with the instep instead of the inside of the foot.
Progressions:
1. Two touch passing only.
2. The Goalkeeper dribbles to the outside before passing.
