Notes:
At the coaches discretion players are rewarded by being sent to the scoreboard. The game will continue as this is happening.
The scoreboard in this game consists of 8 coloured cones spread around the playing area. 4 cones represent 1 teams scoreboard and the other 4 represtents the other teams scoreboard. To begin with each team has 2 cones with footballs on top, but the aim is to have the most cones with footballs on top at the end of the time limited game. Players at the scoreboard steal a ball from an oppositions cone and dribble it to their cone.
As always, ensure to let players know you won't just praise goal scoring but positive behaviors as well. Rewarding such behaviors will likely motivate players to repeat them. Scoreboard Soccer is designed to help the holistic development of young people through praising and promoting characteristics such as team work, sportsmanship and respect.
Variations:
You could play a time limit, meaning if a team has all 4 footballs on their cones game management becomes a factor. Or you could play the first team to get all 4 footballs on their cones wins.
