Set Up:
This is a soccer drill in which players can keep score in order to increase the competition factor. The forwards line up in a single file line about 15 yards from a defender who is stationed in between two cones or flags that are 5 yards apart. Another defender is placed between another set of cones just off to the side facing the other direction. Defenders must stay along the imaginary line between the two cones. In other words they cannot come out to challenge the forwards. This forces them to work on lateral movements. The forwards attack the defenders and must stay in between the two cones in order to score a point. If the defender knocks the ball away then the forward returns to the end of the line. If the forward manages to beat the first defender they continue around the set of cones and come back to challenge the second defender, going to goal if he beats him.
