Practice: Unopposed Pattern of Play
Players set up as shown in diagram. Play starts with the Feeder passing to one CM, who plays a square pass to other CM. No. 9 then comes short to receive from the CM. He receives on the half turn (shoulders and hips open), plays out wide then attacks the penalty box. The opposite wide players attacks the back post area. When play restarts, the play goes down the other side.
Progressions:
When No. 9 comes short to receive he can bounce the ball back to other MF player, who plays longer ball into wide area for the cross. One MF player can break forward into the box for the cross. The other can move forward to edge of the box for a cut back and give security if the attack breaks down. Add defenders to defend the cross.
