Set Up:
Two groups of players start at the cones, 15-20 yards apart. A cone is placed between the two lines, out on the flank. Player 1 starts the drill by running out around the cone to receive a pass from Player 2. Player 1 receives the ball and makes a pass to the second player in the other line (Player 4). Once Player 4 receives, Player 3 runs out around the cone in the opposite direction and receives a pass from Player 4. Player 3 then makes a pass to Player 5 as Player 2 makes the run. The drill continues back and forth from there.
Coaching Points:
1. Look to pass as soon as the receiver cuts in around the cone.
2. Call for the pass and make eye contact.
3. Play the pass directly to the receiver's feet.
Progressions:
1. Add a cone on the opposite flank. The players run the same pattern around the diamond.
Good passing and running drill
