Set Up:
There are three teams of four players, with a goalkeeper in each goal. Teams play 4v4 while the third team puts two “bumpers” on each sideline. Each team can use the bumper players to keep possession. Bumper players only get one touch. If they take more than one, the defending team gets a freekick. Bumper players can move freely on their sideline and onto the end lines, but cannot shoot. Play for 3 minutes, and the team on the outside rotates in. The teams play in a rotation to ensure and equal amount of games. Win-loss records are kept for all three teams.
Coaching Points:
1. Try to look as far forward as possible with your pass/shot.
2. Use the bumper players when there isn’t a better option to play forward.
3. Check away first from where you want to receive, and then run to that spot.
Progressions:
1. Add a neutral attacker.
