Set Up:
Six attackers maintain possession within their zone versus three defenders, looking to change the ball into the opposite zone after five passes. Three additional defenders play inside the neutral zone, looking to intercept the pass across. When the attacking team changes the ball over, three new defenders press the ball as the other three occupy the neutral zone. Whenever the defenders win the ball, the team that lost it becomes the new defending team.
Coaching Points:
1. Speed of Play – Use one or two touches, moving the ball faster than the defenders can run .
2. Expanding the Field – Use the entire space, forcing the defenders to chase the ball.
3. The Thru Pass – Make the defenders slide from sideline to sideline by changing the field. Then look for the thru pass to a midfielder (Players 1 and 2) running into the space between defenders.
Progressions:
1. Only Players 1 and 2 are allowed to change it over.
Regressions:
1. Play 6v2 in the end zones.
