Set Up:
Eight players are set up on a small grid, playing 5v3. During the drill, the five attackers play keep away from the three defenders, and the attacking team plays with one player on the inside of the grid and four players on the outside. All three defenders play on the inside. When the defenders win the ball, they play keep away versus the one attacker, but they are limited to two touches. The Feeder re-starts the drill when the ball is put out of play, and a new group of defenders switches into the middle every 3-5 minutes.
Coaching Points:
1. Use one touch passes to relieve pressure. Look for open teammates before receiving.
2. Anticipate turnovers for a quick transition from attack to defense and vice versa.
3. When receiving, open your stance and be able to see the entire field.
Progressions:
1. Attackers can switch into the grid on the fly.
