Set Up:
There are 12-16 players set up in the attacking third, with lines of players starting at the cones. Play begins with a pass from the neutral to either of the other two attackers. The two defenders release from the penalty area with the neutral’s first touch, and play continues 3v2 to completion. If the defenders win the ball, they return it to the next neutral attacker for the re-start. Upon completion, the players rotate to the opposite end of the field, alternating between attacking and defending.
Coaching Points:
1. Take the dribble right at the first defender and force him to commit.
2. Supporting players should look for the overlap or the takeover if the attack stalls.
3. Look for the thru ball to the third attacker, played between the two defenders.
Progressions:
1. Progress to 4v3.
