Double Goal Game
Double Goal Game
Set Up:
The teams play 4v4 plus two on the small field. The two neutral players must stay inside of the flank zones, but they are allowed an unlimited number of touches with the ball. Defenders are allowed to enter the flank zones AFTER the neutral has received the ball. The neutrals are NOT allowed to shoot on goal. One team attacks the two large goals with goalkeepers, while the opposing team attacks the three small goals on the opposite end line. Corners are also played. Games are played to five goals, and the teams change direction after each game.
Coaching Points:
1 Possession – Change the field and continue passing until a good chance to score arises.
2 Finishing – Look for unexpected changes of direction when the ball is in the center.
3 Decision Making – With poor shooting angles, fake the shot and make one more pass.
Progressions/Regressions:
Progression 1 – The neutrals are allowed to shoot on goal.
Progression 2 – Remove the flank zones, neutrals can use the entire field.
